FrameSeer records event information in the Log tab. Logs are only retained while the FrameSeer document window is open and are not saved. Information in the log is time-stamped. Logged events include starting and stopping tcpdump, the parameters and filters passed to tcpdump, and status information reported by tcpdump (eg the number of packets captured and dropped).

FrameSeer also logs events reported by Mac OS X, such as the arrival and removal of physical interfaces.

The Clear button erases all entries from the log.
